Ugandan Defender Bevis Mugabi Signs For Scottish Club

Motherwell FC in the Scottish top tier have acquired the services of Ugandan UK born footballer Bevis Mugabi on a short term deal that expires in January. The 24 year old centre-back has been playing for English National League side Yeovil Town since 2016 where he moved to after leaving Southampton and Fulham respectively.

Mugabi, who also has seven caps for Uganda, recently turned up for the country at the recently concluded AFCON where he helped Uganda reach the round of last 16 in the competition. He was excited about this new opportunity and said, “I’m excited for a new challenge at Motherwell ,” he said. “I can’t wait to get started, I spoke to some of my old team-mates who had played in Scotland, including Alex Fisher. They told me it was a great opportunity, with Alex telling me how great a place Motherwell was.”

Motherwell has recently been hit by a plague of injuries in their defensive and Mugabi comes as a backup solution to these problems. All the best Bevis!
