Kamala potrayed a fearsome Ugandan who had worked as a bodyguard for former Ugandan president, Idi Amin. He wrestled barefoot and approached the ring wearing an African mask and carrying a spear and shield. The wrestler better known as “Kamala” or “The Ugandan Giant”
Harris “Kamala” had previously suffered many health issues including diabetes which got his legs amputated in 2011. He breathed his last on August 9, 2020, at the age of 70 after he tested positive for COVID-19 on August 5th. This was also confirmed by Kenny Casanova, the writer who co-authored Harris’s autobiography.
Kamala was one of the most savage and terrifying Superstars sports-entertainment has ever seen. At his peak in the 80’s, Harris battled the greatest Superstars in sports-entertainment history, including Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker and Andre the Giant.
Born on May 28, 1950 in Senatobia, Mississippi, Harris grew up in Jim Crow South and was picking cotton and driving trucks for work before moving to Benton Harbor, Michigan, where his career in wrestling began.
