360 tweets per hour on Twitter all in the mentions of Tunechi (Lil Wayne) or Weezy as he’s known to many ever since he put out the big announcement. Well, the big news was and is still is; the release date of Lil Wayne’s Funeral album (LP) that is here.
Thursday (just yesterday), Weezy announced that his new project will be dropping next Friday (Jan 31st). He put this up and made it official on his Twitter account; with him just typing the release date and, a teaser video of what to expect plus a link to the online shop where fans would be able to (pre-order) purchase the project.
In a related scenario, Wayne last year on April 30th ’19 posted a “coffin” emoji on his Instagram story; which got fans hyped for his then release of the “The CARTER (V)” album.
Weezy originally had plans to drop the album at the end of 2019 and he had earlier confirmed this during an interview on Q93 an Orleans radio station last August according to XXL Magazine. He further added that the album was still on; a month before that (in July) and was on the way; with him further confirming that he had connected with Lil Baby and Big Sean to feature on some songs on there. He postponed its release as it was colliding with his Blink 182 Tour which he was headlining at the time. But just because the album never came out doesn’t mean it wasn’t going to be released. And now, 31st January we can only do nothing but wait for it to drop.
