Koboko Member of Parliament, Hon Evelyn Anite who doubles as a state minister has come out to publicly apologise for flouring Ministry of Health Guidelines against COVID-19.
This comes after videos of mass processions led by Hon Anite in koboko went viral which was contrary to the Health Ministry’s stringent guidelines.
Hon Anite made the apology while picking nomination forms for the parliamentary seat together with other aspirants which will be followed by primaries.
“I apologize on behalf of my people that they broke Covid-19 rules and I apologize to our president and to all the citizens. This was very unfortunate,”Anite said.
“When people don’t have and get such news, they get excited. Personally I followed what my president said,that when you face such a magnitude of people run away. I exactly did that. I ran away from them,”she explained.
She backed up her actions by explaining that the gathering was a result of excitement from which people didn’t listen as her agents tried to sensitise them.
