Brian Bagyenda, son of Internal Security Organization boss Kaka Bagyenda has filed a notice of appeal to challenge his conviction and 32-year jail sentence for murdering his girlfriend. High Court judge Moses Kazibwe has found Brian Bagyenda guilty of the murder of his girlfriend Enid Twijukye and was convicted together with his two employers.
Justice Kazibwe handed 32 years to him and his co-accused Innocent Baimomugisha and Vincent Rwahirwe. Through his lawyers of M/S Nsubuga and Company Advocates, he has filed a notice of appeal in the Court of Appeal.
During his trial, Bagyenda had asked Justice Kazibwe to acquit him and instead commit him to safe custody as a criminal lunatic to await a ministerial directive because at the time he is alleged to have committed this offense, he was not mentally upright.
The offense was committed on January 4th, 2017, along Njobe road in Luzira, the home of Brian Bagyenda before dumping the deceased’ body in the Namanve forest along Jinja road.
